Counselling Psychologist, EdD
About me
As a Registered Counselling Psychologist, I have researched in adolescent and human development, and provided individual psychotherapy and counselling supervision based on evidence-based strategies. Having had a life with many transitions, living and working in Canada, the USA, and Hong Kong, and China. I have first hand experience and an in depth understanding of being an expat and dealing with changes. I have worked with locals and expats from across various cultures and global locations, including Australia, the UK, the US, Canada, China, Singapore, Hong Kong, Southeast Asia, and South America. Fluent in both English and Chinese (Cantonese and Mandarin), and effective in working with individuals and families of Asian and Western cultures, I have been a 'go to' person in my workplace and community on youth development issues, parenting, and personal development.
With over 25 years of experience in counselling, developing well-being education curriculum, and speaking in local and international schools, I am familiar with mental health issues and strategies across different cultures and life transitions. As an Approved Counselling Supervisor (HKPCA) and an Associate Fellow and Registered Counselling Psychologist (HKPS), I enjoy training and providing counselling supervision to counsellors attaining their certification, as well as lecturing (part-time) in Psychology/Counselling at local colleges and universities.
At the end of the day, I find walking along side an individual or a group and seeing the person(s) feeling lighter, more hopeful, finding meaning, and moving forward, most rewarding!
