Kaitlyn Jantzi

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist based in Nepal

About me

I am a licensed social worker, therapist, and expat currently living in Nepal, with previous experience living in East Africa. My personal and professional life are deeply shaped by my lived experience with trauma and my own time as a psychotherapy client, which informs my belief in the healing power of therapy.

Growing up between two very different worlds—a queer community in a mid-sized city and a highly conservative small town—taught me to value nuance, curiosity, and open conversation. As an expat, parent, partner, and clinician, I understand how identity, culture, and life transitions intersect and impact wellbeing.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Education, and Master of Social Work, with advanced training in grief, trauma, attachment, and online counselling. I offer a grounded, compassionate, and relational approach to therapy, particularly well-suited for people navigating change, displacement, and complex emotional experiences.

Impacts of Working as a Humanitarian

I specialise in:

• Trauma • Grief • Attachment • Impacts of Working as a Humanitarian • Cross Cultural Adjustment • Faith, Religion and Spirituality • Supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ Community

My Approach

I specialise in working with adults navigating trauma, grief, attachment wounds, and major life transitions. I have particular expertise supporting expatriates and humanitarian, and individuals adjusting to cross-cultural life. I also work extensively with issues related to faith, spirituality, religious trauma, and support for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, including those from religious or conservative backgrounds.

Therapeutic Approach

My approach is trauma-informed, relational, and somatic. I believe you are already whole, even if trauma, loss, or shame has made that hard to access. Therapy with me focuses on gently working with wounded parts of self while strengthening resilience, self-understanding, and emotional safety.

I draw on neuroscience and body-based psychotherapy, recognising that healing happens through both mind and body. I work collaboratively, tailoring therapy to your goals, pace, and lived experience, with attention to how culture, identity, and systems shape mental health.
Clinical Training

I am trained in advanced trauma therapies including,Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (Levels 1 & 2), AEDP, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Coherence Therapy.. My ongoing education focuses on memory reconsolidation, a powerful neurobiological process that supports lasting change in trauma responses and deeply held beliefs.
