I am a Swiss citizen who was born in Jamaica to Jamaican and Swiss parents, grew up in London and am now living in Vienna where I am completing my Masters in Psychotherapy Science. As such, I have a unique perspective as it relates to integration and identity. Having always been somewhat out of the norm myself, I am intimately familiar with feeling isolated and experiencing the need to reach out and make connections. This is why, as a mental health care professional, I have always been driven by the need to create a space of understanding and instil a sense of being understood in my clients.
Alongside my career as a mental health coach, I am, at heart, a die-hard academic and researcher, currently working with the trauma institute of my alma mater. I hold degrees in History and Politics as well as Psychotherapy Science. Being from a multiracial background, I was inspired to pursue research in the area of race relations, racial identity and systemic racism. I have written two theses surrounding these topics and am currently writing a third that focuses on the intersection between being a person of colour and womanhood. Aside from my work as a researcher and as a psychosocial support consultant for adolescents, I also run corporate workshops. Specifically, I provide Diversity, Equity and Inclusion workshops for international companies. I eat, sleep and breathe mental health. When I’m not actively coaching, I am doing research in the mental health care field, constantly aiming to refine and redefine the way we treat people from every possible walk of life.
