My Approach

My therapeutic approach is grounded primarily in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), integrated with DBT-informed skills within a client-centered framework. I work collaboratively with clients to understand how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact, and how these patterns influence their experiences and relationships. Using CBT, I support clients in identifying unhelpful thinking patterns and exploring practical ways to respond to challenges.

I also incorporate Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills—such as emotion regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and interpersonal effectiveness—when helpful for managing intense emotions and improving coping strategies. At the core of my work is a client-centered approach, where empathy, respect, and a non-judgmental stance guide the therapeutic relationship. I aim to create a space where clients feel heard and understood while we explore their goals and experiences together.

Qualifications & Experience

I am a counselling psychotherapist with a strong academic background and well-rounded clinical experience across a variety of settings. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with Highest Honors from The American University in Cairo, along with a minor in Mass Communication and Journalism, and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and Psychotherapy with Distinction from The American College of Greece.

My clinical training includes a supervised internship at Behman Hospital, as well as four years working as a trainee therapist in a psychiatric clinic, where I supported individuals with diverse mental health concerns. I have also worked within an NGO supporting individuals facing both physical disabilities and psychological challenges, and most recently provided counseling services to students at The American College of Greece Counseling Center under licensed supervision.

In addition, I am a member of Psi Chi and have completed specialized training in eating disorders, including CBT-E, accredited by the Egyptian Association for Continuing Medical Education Development (EACMED) and delivered by O7 Therapy. I offer therapy in both English and Arabic and remain committed to ongoing learning and ethical, compassionate practice.
